Yousef Abbasi
Global Market Strategist

Yousef Abbasi joined JonesTrading as a Market Strategist in February 2011. Over the past three years, he has helped elevate the firm’s real-time research platform – which was recently ranked #1 by the Tabb Group – with his global macro-economic commentary and single stock color.

Abbasi also publishes JonesTrading’s “Catalyst for the Week Ahead” – a report that provides insightful analysis on market psychology and sentiment while setting the table for market moving events in the weeks to come.

In his prior experience, Abbasi was a desk analyst on the block trading desks of both Bear Stearns and JPMorgan covering the Financial and Homebuilding sectors.

Yousef graduated from New York University in 2005 with a degree focused on Political and Economic development. His studies at NYU culminated with a thesis on the Political and Economic evolution of post Apartheid South Africa.

Abbasi is regularly cited in the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and Bloomberg News. He also appears regularly on Canada’s BNN.

Joseph Cangemi
Managing Director
Convergex

Joseph N. Cangemi is a Managing Director for Convergex and a member of the firm’s executive committee, new products committee and global best execution committee that is responsible for monitoring and analyzing execution quality firm-wide to ensure it meets or exceeds all regulatory and company requirements.

Previously, Joseph served as Chief Executive Officer of Convergex Limited (Convergex’s UK-based brokerage), responsible for all European operations including the oversight of its business development, sales and trading activity.  Earlier in his tenure with Convergex, he established and led the company’s Reg NMS Task Force which ensured that the company’s trading and client support operations would be fully compliant with all of the new Reg NMS requirements.

A recognized financial industry leader, Joseph was appointed to the Securities Traders Association (STA) Board of Governors where he served as treasurer in 2009 and as chairman in 2011.  He also served three full terms as governor of the New York Stock Exchange where he has been a longtime member.

Joseph joined Convergex through the acquisition of Francis P. Maglio & Co., a firm he co-founded in 1983 and grew to become one of the industry’s top direct access floor brokers. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is a member of the SIFMA Equity Markets and Trading Committee and of the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP).

Mr. Cangemi holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Rochester and he holds his Series 7, 24, 27 and 63 registrations.  He was the recipient of the Sons of Italy’s Golden Lion Award in 2000.

Jay Biancamano

Jay heads Equities Product Marketing for Fidessa Corp in the Americas.   The Equities Product Marketing team is responsible for developing and growing Fidessa’s Product offerings and client base. He is considered one of the foremost experts on Dark Pools and electronic trading market structure having built and designed many successful products in the space. Jay is now specifically focused on bringing innovative solutions to Fidessa’s Sell Side clients.

Prior to joining Fidessa Jay founded Hoyvin Inc. where he pioneered a platform that used artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction to source alpha in social media. In 2011 he took over as Executive Chairman and acting CEO of Pipeline Trading, a leader in predictive analytics and algorithmic trading. Beginning in 2003 he headed Liquidnet’s Corporate Strategy group where he led Liquidnet’s strategy from singular dark pool to expansion into active trading. During his tenure Jay lead the development of several new products including the H2O ATS and their quantitative suite. Earlier Jay joined ITG Inc. as Director of Compliance and subsequently headed Business Development where he was part of the team that introduced such innovations as algorithmic trading, transaction cost analysis and ATS surveillance tools.

Jay holds a B.S. in Finance from Rutgers University, a M.B.A. in International Business from Fordham University and an Executive Certificate from Wharton in Strategic Alliances.

 

Alex Hagmeyer

Before joining Franklin Templeton, Alex began his career at Quantitative Services Group (QSG).  As a Senior Quantitative Analyst, Alex managed the Transaction Cost Analysis product and research group where he provided quantitative evaluation of order flow, transaction costs and trading strategies to institutional trading desks.  After joining Franklin Templeton in 2012 Alex took a dual role as an equity trader and quantitative specialist.  In addition to trading the US Healthcare and Consumer sectors, he focuses on transforming data into actionable information for traders and other players in the investment process.

 

Jason Lichten
Director Equities & Listed Derivatives Trading Strategies

Jason Lichten is responsible for business development related to the trading of equities and derivatives for institutional clients.  Prior to joining WEX, Mr. Lichten was Vice President, Electronic Trading Strategy at RBC.  In his previous role, Mr. Lichten was a key member of RBC’s Market Structure team, where he was responsible for successfully helping to grow RBC’s electronic trading platform and smart-order router, THOR.

Mr. Lichten has extensive experience in US Equity market structure and will apply his experience to options and futures trading focusing on educating the buy side on the complexities of options trading and sourcing liquidity.

 

Phil Makintosh
Head of Trading Strategy & Analysis

Phil Mackintosh is Head of Trading Strategy & Analysis at KCG. This team provides commentary, transparency and analysis on market structure, trading and ETFs. This in turn helps investors understand how to leverage technology and improve their trading.

Phil has over 20 years experience in Financial Markets. He has traded and researched markets in all asset classes, managed index funds, as well as working in operational risk and finance roles. His varied positions in the industry contribute to a unique working understanding of international trading and portfolio management, from both the buy-side and sell-side.

Mr. Mackintosh holds a Master’s Degree in Quantitative Finance, a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and is also a Chartered Accountant.

 

Joe Wald

Prior to joining Clearpool, Joe was executive vice president with GAIN Capital where he ran GTX, the institutional electronic FX trading business. He also served as a member of GAIN Capital’s executive operating committee. Earlier, Joe was a managing director and head of Knight Direct, Knight Capital Group’s institutional electronic trade execution business. He oversaw the strategy, development and implementation of Knight Direct’s products and services and was responsible for sales, marketing, operations and support. Before Knight Capital, Joe was CEO and co-founder of EdgeTrade Inc., the pioneer developer of agency-only, liquidity seeking algorithms and direct market access technologies for the U.S. equities market. EdgeTrade was sold to Knight Capital Group in 2008.

Joseph Wald has 20 years of experience in building and managing innovative trading technologies, platforms and execution systems for institutional market participants. As CEO of Clearpool Group, Joe’s trusted reputation and vast industry relationships are helping to grow the firm’s business. He is focused on Clearpool’s vision of transforming market integrity, compliance and risk into competitive strengths within a new electronic trading frontier.

John Russell is a senior vice president within the Global Trading group with leadership responsibilities in ECM and Risk.

Mr. Russell joined Franklin Templeton Investments in 1993 as a member of the Management Training Program.

Mr. Russell attended California State University at Northridge where he earned his B.S. in Finance. He also holds an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University. He is an officer on the Board of Directors for the Security Traders Association (STA).

Brian Barrett

Brian J. Barrett is a vice president, head trader for the Fort Lauderdale Global Equity trading desk. Mr. Barrett is a sector trader responsible for trading the financial, energy and materials sectors. Previous to current trading responsibilities Mr. Barrett also traded the consumer sector and was the generalist for Canadian trading. He was also one of the team leads for Trade Cost Analysis for the global trading team.

Mr. Barrett joined Franklin Templeton in 2002 and has been a member of the Global Equity Trading team since 2004. Mr. Barrett received his B.A. from St. Vincent College in 1996 and is currently a board member for the Securities Traders Association of Florida.

 

Cheryl A. Cargie

With over 27 years of trading experience, Cheryl is Ariel’s head trader and is responsible for the firm’s domestic trading operations. Prior to joining the firm in 1994, she was vice president and head trader at Fiduciary Management Associates. In this capacity, she was the firm’s principal trader of both equities and fixed income securities.

Prior to her tenure at Fiduciary Management, Cheryl was an equity trader at Aon Corporation. She is an active member of NASDAQ’s Institutional Traders Advisory Council and a member of the National Organization of Investment Professionals.

In 2013, Cheryl was honored with The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Securities Traders’ Association of Chicago (STAC), where she also served as a past president.

Cheryl graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in Finance.

 

Keith Collazo
Equity Trader

Keith Collazo is an equity trader primarily focused on Gold, precious metals, and mining equities in the US and Canada for the highly regarded Tocqueville Gold Fund.  In addition to trading the Gold and Precious Metals Mining sector, he is also the generalist in trading mid cap and large cap value equities covering the Industrials, Materials, Energy, and Consumer Discretionary sectors.

Keith graduated from Fordham University with a BS in Finance.

 

Dallas L. Lundy
Director of Trading
Atlanta Capital Management Company

Dallas L. Lundy has 42 years of investment management experience.  He is currently Director of Trading at Atlanta Capital Management Company.  He joined the firm in June 1973 and during his 42 years has served in the capacity of Partner, Principal, Assistant Portfolio Manager and in Portfolio Administration.  His was appointed as a key member of the firm’s development team with additional responsibilities in marketing and client services.  He also performed duties as lead client relationship manager for several public pension funds.  As one of the original six partners, he has been instrumental in many aspects of managing and growing the firm.

Mr. Lundy is a past President of the Georgia Securities Association (GSA) where he created the GSA Scholarship Fund and expanded the program to include all major universities in the Atlanta area.  Also as President, he expanded the Georgia Stock Market Game to include elementary schools to reach kids at an early age.  He is a graduate of Georgia State University.
