STA Florida recognizes the importance of giving back.  In our mission to join industry members together in the state of Florida, we also keep giving back at the heart of what we do.  We have been fortunate enough to be in a position to support our local charities listed below.

We appreciate the donations you’ve made to our charities and we look forward to your continued support.

2023

STA Florida is pleased to announce Kids Beating Cancer as the 2023 Conference charity organization.

Kids Beating Cancer’s Mission

Every new year is filled with exciting possibilities, and for Kids Beating Cancer, 2022 marks our 30th year!

Thirty years of carrying out our mission of providing children ACCESS to life-saving treatments through the science of cellular therapy and advancing pediatric innovative, novel, research, moving new discoveries to patient care, while supporting the children and their families throughout the journey to a cure. Science is the Cure to Saving Children’s Lives.

Their Philosophy:

Keep Hope Alive

Fight for a Cure for Every Child Keep the Family Together

Their Vision for the Future:

Kids Beating Cancer’s 30th Anniversary vision going forward is to have a place dedicated to curing children by establishing the Kids Beating Cancer Research & Children’s Center. “Our focus today and going forward remains on the belief we all strive for – the day when no child will die before they can experience the joy of life. The Kids Beating Cancer Research & Children’s Center will be a gift to the children of central Florida and beyond, allowing our philosophy: to keep hope alive, to fight for a cure for every child, and to keep the family together, to flourish. Science and treatment will continue to be at the apex, where knowledge, treatment and family support coalesce to cure a little boy or girl,” states Margaret Guedes, founder of Kids Beating Cancer.

2022

The Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation is pleased to be the benefitting charity for the 2022 STA Florida Golf Event.

The Palmer Foundation, a public charity, carries on the Palmer legacy through strategic grantmaking and its own youth initiatives, with a devotion to children – especially those facing challenges. Partners in this work include the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. Ensuring that children grow in understanding of the natural world, the Palmer Foundation also facilitates nature-focused experiences for youth in the City of Orlando and beyond. Another key endeavor is the character-building Arnold Palmer Cup, a unique, Ryder Cup-style golf event in which young men and women compete together as teammates.

For future generations, the Palmer Foundation is working to preserve and share the important artifacts, letters, and trophies which tell his story of leadership in golf, philanthropy, and American history. Your support through this year’s event and by supporting the Palmer Foundation directly through a tax-deductible gift, helps ensure every child has the opportunity to live a #LifeWel/P/ayed

2021

2021 STA Florida Golf Event.

We were so impressed with the team from Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation at last year’s STA FL conference that we’ve invited them back to be our charitable foundation for this event.

The pandemic impacted every aspect of life in the past year, including pediatric cancer research. However, cancer does not have a pause button, and neither does Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation. They remain committed to funding innovative treatments to improve the quality of life of children with cancer. Thanks to your support, Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation continues to fund the following projects:

Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation currently has eight research projects in the pipeline that show promise, more than any single grant cycle in their history. Your support is vital to providing treatment options – and HOPE – to children and their families!

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation – https://www.hopkinsallchildrens.org/foundation/foundation-home

The mission of the Foundation is to channel family and community compassion into philanthropic action that addresses the financial needs and the mission of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital through our four tenets: research, education, treatment and advocacy for the children in our care.

Donations made to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation help the hospital continually elevate the quality of pediatric care delivered to our young patients. A few examples of hospital initiatives supported by philanthropy include:

  • A new state-of-the-art hospital and campus-based outpatient care center for children and families to have a safe and family-centered environment in which to receive the best care possible.
  • Innovative feeding, occupational and physical therapies to help children with physical and developmental delays thrive.
  • A new high-tech biorepository specimen storage and database tool, helping researchers discover better treatments and cures.
  • Participation in more than 300 Institutional-Review-Board-approved research studies to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of children’s diseases and their adverse outcomes.
  • Helping sick and injured kids enjoy childhood despite their health issues through Child Life programs and events like Music Therapy, the annual Halloween Parade and the All Kids Wonderland holiday gift shopping event.
  • Training of future doctors with the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital pediatric residency program as well as continuing education to push and challenge our team members to be the very best for the children in our care.

These are just some of the ways philanthropy can have a lasting impact on children’s health.

Donate today and put your money to work for sick and injured kids. Imagine what we can accomplish together

Southeastern Guard Dogs – Paws for Patriots – www.guidedogs.org/about/our-programs/paws-for-patriots/

There’s no greater distinction than laying down one’s life for freedom’s sake. Some have lost their vision in the line of duty, whether from a roadside bomb or a rare virus. Some recover in military healthcare facilities. And some bear invisible scars; wounds seared on hearts and minds after losing friends, witnessing the unthinkable, and enduring the unspeakable. They’ve served us. Now it’s our turn. That’s why we provide our guide dogs, service dogs, facility therapy dogs, emotional support dogs and Gold Star Family dogs at no charge. Be a hero for our heroes. Support Southeastern Guide Dogs.
